Asthma is a respiratory disease that concerns the airways in our body. In the occurrence of an asthma attack, airway is narrowed due to the inflammation of mucosal membrane outlining the airway, the spasms of muscles surrounding the airway and the excessive volume of mucus. This boosts airway resistance leading to wheezing, cough, and shortness of breath.
